Reasons You Are Not Burning Up Body Fat

1. You Aren’t Sleeping enough

who would have guessed we’d kick start these reasons with something completely non-diet and exercise related?

Well the facts are in and sleep is imperative for fat loss success.

Even though your body is actually burning the fewest calories per minute during sleep, how much you’re getting is going to have a huge influence on the progress you make.

Sleep impacts everything.

This includes:

• Your recovery from your workout sessions

• Your metabolic rate (which influences your total calorie burn)

• Your insulin sensitivity (which determines how fast carbs turn to body fat!)

• Your energy levels

• your workout performance

• your hunger level

• your motivation

…and on and on it goes.

If you are not getting at least eight hours of sleep each night, this is the very first thing that you must fix if you want to see faster fat loss success.

Sleep will not only enhance your fat loss progress, but help you feel much healthier as well.

2. You’re Eating ‘White’ Foods

Have a look over your current daily diet. How many of the foods you’re eating are white?
White bread? White rice? White pasta? White potatoes? White sugar?

All of these have to go.

These foods are like fat bombs waiting to go off in your body. They will drive up your insulin levels which puts your body in an automatic ‘storage’ stage, hungry to store the calories they contain directly as body fat.

If you want to stay lean, these need to be avoided.

3. You’re avoiding All Fats

On the other hand, another mistake far too many people make is avoiding all fats. You think, eat fat, and get fat. Simple right?

It’s not quite like that. While fats do contain more calories than carbs and proteins gram for gram, fat can actually help your fat loss progress.

That is, if you eat the right variety.

Understanding which types of fats will help your body burn up stored body fat and which will only increase your chances of gaining body fat is critical for your weight loss success.

A few wrong choices could be deadly as far as your progress is concerned.

4. You’re Doing Hours Of Cardio Training

How many hours have you spent in the gym lately doing cardio training? If you’re like most people, more than you’d care to admit.

In fact, some of you who are very dedicated may even be getting up at the crack of dawn (or earlier!) to do your cardio and then heading back in after work for session number two.

It’s madness!

If you’re doing this much cardio, ask yourself, what type of results has it brought you?

If you’re like most people – not much change!

There are two outcomes in life. You win or you learn. If you don’t learn, you repeat the same lesson over and over again until you do.

How many times are you going to repeat this lesson?

Hours of cardio does not work. Do not keep doing this if you want something to change.

5. You’re Buying Meats from the Grocery Store

yes! If you shop the local grocery store and make sure to pick up your lean protein choices such as chicken breasts, lean beef, and fish, did you know you may be doing yourself more harm than good?

That’s right – those lean meat sources you’re buying are often pumped full of chemicals that will just hinder your ability to fight body fat.

You only want to be eating the best of the best. Organic, grass fed beef, free range chicken, and wild caught fish is the way to go.

While it may be pricier, the cost is well worth it when it comes to the return on not only your fat loss progress, but your health as well.

6. You’re eating Too Few Calories

The next mistake is a doozy, yet people do it time and time again.

The mistake?

Eating too few calories.

It goes something like this.

You’re told that if you eat 1200 calories per day, you’re going to lose one pound per week.
Great – you’d be happy with that.

But then you start to wonder. What if I ate just 800 calories per day? Would I lose 2 pounds per week?

That would be better!

Most people get caught up in this thinking because they want results quickly and who can really blame them.

But what they don’t realize is that the body is designed to prevent starvation and at 800 calories per day, there’s no denying the fact you are going to be starving.

As such, your body is going to be putting up the fight of a lifetime.

And let me tell you, when you are in a fight against your body, the war is not going to be in your favor.
You’ll be hungry, you’ll be tired, you’ll be irritable – basically, you will be downright miserable.

Eventually you will fall off that diet, gaining back any weight you did lose and more.

If you’ve ever used a crash diet, you know what this is all about.

Low calorie – good!

Very low calorie – disastrous!

There’s a fine line and you need to make sure you don’t cross over to the ‘dark side’.
